Design Lab — future

Here are the top things we've seen, heard, read or clicked on during
the past month.
---

An exhibition > Who wants to live in a penthouse with terrace and private pool when you can live in a futuristic micro-house from the 60's? We know that you’re already planning the move (it’s small, it will be easy), but for now they only serve to house plastic furniture in an exhibition.

An event > We really like how humanoids in United States looked at the sky to contemplate the solar eclipse and enjoy the fascinating universe. We recommend to click on this article to discover more about the phenomenon.

An innovation > Ito En, the largest producer of green tea drinks in Japan, is a great example of how companies can make positive changes in the world. Thanks to its social and ecological awareness, it revitalizes inactive cultivated lands giving a new opportunity to the unemployed workers of those farms and transforms tons of used tea leaves into millions of cardboard boxes for their products.

A development > This patch isn't like the ones that your mother sew on your trousers with your favorite superhero. It’s an element that makes easier the surgery related to the organs and much less intrusive, so it achieves a faster recovery.

A construction > Now you see it, now you do not see it. Although it seems like a magic trick, in fact we are talking about a floating bridge that is being built in Ordos (China) and can be re-located according to the needs of the moment. This is not its only special quality, since it consists of several moving parts that can be extended or contracted to be used in different situations.

Army is here

Army is here

The future is today. With each design we make clear our vision of the future:  minimalism, innovation, and innovation. But what does the future look like to you?

We like to take things a step further (we can’t help it), so we decided to head out to look for the answers. We rounded up a programmer, an astronomer, an educator, a chef, an architect and a journalist so they could tell us what their future looked like. And this is precisely the thrilling central theme of the campaign for our third model: Army.

About ten months ago, when we didn’t even have the first sketches on our table yet, we knew that we wanted to dress all those young visionary professionals, the ones who don’t go for the most obvious routes and are always leading the way.

Many of you had been asking us for a sportier model for a while, but one that maintained our values of minimalism and functionality. So we thought that this was the perfect moment to make a shoe that was by and for you. We heard you and today it’s ready to hit the street.

In the end Army has gone from being a project to becoming something very, very tangible. What started out as a shoe is now an entire movement and a resounding call to #dothefuture. Many have joined us already. How about you? Discover them here.

An advance > We want to hypnotize you with this video to increase the visits to our website. More seriously, click and discover how the galaxy will be in 5 million years. And then you can check out our website :-)

A movie > Little time is left until the release of Alien: Covenant, the sequel to Prometheus. This article will make the wait time minimal. Warning: maybe it has the opposite effect.

A design > There are many bikes but none like this one, designed by Playful Design Studio. As you know, we like the combination of simplicity, funcionality and aesthetics.

An evolution > A dream come true. It’s now possible to have your own virtual clone thanks to the electrodes contained in this glasses. We’re already planning how to clone our shoes to dress twice as many humanoids in record time ;-)

An update > Good news for thumbs: soon we’ll be able to type with our brain. Thank you, Mark Zuckerberg, for making telepathy stop being a science fiction issue and for making our ads have good reach levels on your platform.
